La Crosse, Wis. - University of Wisconsin-La Crosse senior cornerback Matt Winney of Green Bay (Preble) and senior linebacker Aaron Johnson of Wisconsin Dells (H.S.) have been named to the D3football.com All-Region Team. Winney has been selected to the All-West Region Second Team while Johnson was named to the All-Region Third Team.

La Crosse, Wis. - University of Wisconsin-La Crosse senior cornerback Matt Winney of Green Bay (Preble)?has been selected to the 2009 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) First Team Wednesday in a vote by league coaches. Winney started all 10 games this season for the Eagles, finishing fifth on the team in tackles with 40. He recorded 32 solo tackles.

La Crosse, Wis. - The UW-La Crosse football team finished its 2009 season with a 58-21 loss to second-ranked UW-Whitewater Saturday afternoon at Roger Harring Stadium at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex. The Eagles finish 5-5 overall and 2-5 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) while the Warhawks improve to 10-0 overall and 7-0 in the conference.

Eau Claire, Wis. - The UW-La Crosse football team dropped its third straight Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) game with a 27-17 loss at UW-Eau Claire Saturday afternoon at Carson Park. The Eagles, who opened the season 4-0, fall to 5-4 overall and 2-4 in the WIAC while the Blugolds improve to 5-4 overall and 3-3 in the league.
