UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN-LA CROSSE ATHLETICS

Eau Claire, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse wrestling team placed second at the 32nd Annual UW-Eau Claire Invitational Saturday night in the McPhee Physical Education Center. The Eagles finished with 149.5 team points while Augsburg College (Minn.) won the team title with 221. UW-Parkside was third (126), St. John's University, Minn. fourth (109) and UW-Oshkosh fifth (93). A total of 13 teams scored points.

Madison, Wis. - University of Wisconsin-La Crosse sophomore Mike Schmitz of Stewartville, Minn. (H.S.) has been selected the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Wrestler of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.

Wheaton, Ill. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse wrestling team placed third at the Pete Willson Wheaton Invitational Saturday afternoon. The Eagles finished with 92.0 team points. UW-Parkside took the team title with 175.5 points while Heidelberg University, Ohio was second with 108.5. UW-L's Mike Schmitz took the 174-pound title Saturday afternoon.

Wheaton, Ill. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse wrestling team is in sixth-place after the first day of competition at the Pete Willson Wheaton Invitational. The Eagles have 43.0 team points while UW-Parkside leads the standings with 101.5 points.
