UW-L Hosts Alumni Meet

La Crosse, Wis. - The UW-La Crosse women's swimming and diving team hosted its annual Alumni Meet Saturday, Oct. 31 in Mitchell Hall.

Seven different swimmers won events for the Eagles.

Abby Diehl captured the 50 freestyle (25.75) while Lauren Kaiser won the 100 freestyle (57.34) and Chelsea Hoff the 500 freestyle (5:25.11). Diehl was also second in the 100 butterfly (1:04.13).

The Eagles' Laura Reifenberg finished second in the 100 (58.91) and 200 (2:09.78) freestyle while Kasey Madden was second in the 50 freestyle (26.04). Emily Ordway placed second in the 500 freestyle (5:50.66).

Other winners included Katelyn Hartung in the 200 I.M. (2:17.71), Taylor Smith in the 100 butterfly (1:01.93), Dayna Johnson in the 100 breaststroke (1:11.95) and Danielle Ellingson took the 100 backstroke (1:04.42). Smith also placed second in the 100 backstroke (1:07.70) while Johnson finished second in the 200 I.M. (2:22.47).

UW-L's Brittany Erb was second in the 100 breaststroke (1:12.53).

Kaiser, Johnson, Ashlee Gordon and Amanda May took the 200 medley relay (1:40.21) while Ellingson, Mariah Schisler, Madden and Hannah Mueller won the 200 freestyle relay (1:43.73).

Did You Know...
UW-L's student-athletes recorded a cumulative grade point average of 3.210 in 2010-11, the highest in the WIAC.  The Eagles also had the highest number of student-athletes, 376, posting grade point averages above 3.000.
