UW-La Crosse 123.5, UW-Eau Claire 118.5
Eau Claire, Wis. - The UW-La Crosse women's swimming & diving team earned a 123.5-118.5 dual victory at UW-Eau Claire Saturday afternoon in McPhee Physical Education Center. The Eagles are now 2-0 in duals this year.
UW-L's
Chelsea Hoff and
Rachel LaValley each won two events Saturday. Hoff capturd the 50 (24.15) and 100 (53.79) freestyles while LaValley swept the one-meter (240.25 points) and three-meter (267.45) diving competitions.
Other individual winners included
Jennifer Bryson in the 1,000 freestyle (11:21.53),
Danielle Ellingson in the 200 I.M. (2:16.01) and
Dayna Johnson in the 200 breaststroke (2:34.27). Ellingson also finished third in the 200 backstroke (2:17.17) while Johnson was second in the 200 butterfly (2:17.47).
UW-L's 200 medley relay of Hoff,
Brianna Peyer,
Taylor Smith and
Kasey Madden finished first (1:49.88).
The Eagles'
Katelyn Hartung was second in the 200 freestyle (1:57.62) and third in the 500 freestyle (5:24.36) while
Abby Diehl placed second in the 500 freestyle (5:23.11) and third in the 200 freestyle (1:58.77).
Carissa Paasch finished third in the 200 breaststroke (2:35.71) for UW-L.
Diehl, Ellingson, Bryson and Hartung finished second in the 800 freestyle relay (8:01.25).
In diving,
Samantha Koch was second in the one-meter (236.35 points) and three-meter (255.15) competition while
Shannon Doyle placed third in the one-meter (222.85) and three-meter (241.40).
UW-L returns to action Friday, Jan. 22 at the Get to the Point Invitational in Stevens Point at 10 a.m.
