UW-La Crosse 152, UW-Eau Claire 90
Eau Claire, Wis. - The UW-La Crosse men's swimming & diving team earned a 152-90 dual victory at UW-Eau Claire Saturday afternoon in McPhee Physical Education Center. The Eagles are now 2-0 in duals this year.
Justin Dembski,
Kevin Misener,
Spencer Loch and
Matthew Diehl each won two events Saturday for UW-L. Dembski took the 500 (4:55.99) and 1,000 (10:10.03) freestyle while Misener won the 200 freestyle (1:48.83) and 200 backstroke (2:00.82).
Loch captured the 50 (21.86) and 100 (48.31) freestyles and Diehl took first-place in the 200 I.M. (2:02.41) and 200 breaststroke (2:16.83).
The Eagles'
Kurt Zehel was first in the 200 butterfly (2:09.56).
UW-L also won the 200 medley relay (1:37.89) with the team of Misener, Diehl,
Joel Knuesel and Loch.
Knuesel placed third in the 50 (22.72) and 100 (50.45) freestyles while
Colin Schmidt was second in the 200 freestyle (1:50.35). The Eagles'
Casey Borden placed third in the 200 backstroke (2:04.64).
Peter Szotkowski finished second (2:12.54) and
Andrew Rasmussen third (2:13.73) in the 200 butterfly while UW-L's
Bill Shuster placed third in the 200 breaststroke (2:25.48).

Jared Krueger and
Simon Weisse placed second in the 800 freestyle relay (7:29.62).
In diving,
Trey Edgerle finished second in the one-meter (233.50 points) and third in the three-meter (238.80) competition while
Patrick Schulze was second in the thre-meter (246.60) and
Casey Chamberlain third in the one-meter (216.55).
UW-L returns to action Friday, Jan. 22 at the Get to the Point Invitational in Stevens Point at 10 a.m.
