Minneapolis, Minn. - The UW-La Crosse men's swimming & diving team completed action at the UW-River Falls Invitational Saturday night at the University of Minnesota. The competition was split into two divisions. In the Red Division, the Eagles finished seventh with 159.0 team points while in the White Division, UW-L was sixth overall with 137.0 points.

In the White Division, the Eagles' Justin Dembski placed fifth in the 1,650 freestyle (16:49.00) and ninth in the 500 freestyle (4:51.95) while Matthew Diehl finished seventh in the 100 breaststroke (1:00.09) and ninth in the 200 breaststroke (2:15.26).

UW-L's Spencer Loch was 10th in the 100 freestyle (47.86), 11th in the 50 freestyle (21.70) and 15th in the 100 backstroke (57.30) while Casey Borden finished 10th in the 100 backstroke (55.73) and 12th in the 200 backstroke (2:04.93).

Kevin Misener placed ninth in the 200 backstroke (2:00.20) and 12th in the 100 backstroke (56.09).

In the relays, the Eagles' 200 freestyle relay of Diehl, Joel Knuesel, Benjamin Knutson and Loch placed 7th overall (1:27.44) while the 400 freestyle relay of Knuesel, Knutson, Michael Beilman and Colin Schmidt was 10th (3:17.72). The 400 medley relay of Misener, Diehl, Knuesel and Loch also finished 10th (3:41.64).

In the Red Division of the invite, Bill Schuster was sixth in the 100 breaststroke (1:04.32) and 14th in the 400 I.M. (4:43.43) and 200 breaststroke (2:26.63). Kurt Zehel finished 11th in the 200 I.M. (2:09.64), 400 I.M. (4:37.17) and 200 butterfly (2:07.87).

UW-L's Peter Szotkowski finished 13th in the 200 I.M. (2:11.49) and 14th in the 200 breaststroke (2:25.66) while Jared Krueger placed 15th in the 200 freestyle (1:54.92) and 16th in the 200 butterfly (2:19.53).

Ryan Schmidt was 10th (18:10.00) and Kyle Bennwitz 15th (18:52.66) in the 1,650 freestyle.

The Eagles' 200 medley relay of Michael Hagensick, Shuster, Nathaniel Hoffman and Simon Weisse placed fourth overall (1:41.38) while the 200 freestyle relay of Weisse, Jon Riley Seebeck, Andrew Rasmussen and Krueger were ninth (1:31.71). UW-L's 400 medley relay of Rasmussen, Shuster, Zehel and Krueger were also ninth (3:48.79) while the 400 freestyle relay of Krueger, Weisse, Corey Mukai and Hoffman finished 10th (3:25.12).
