Oldenburg Named WIAC Offensive Player of the Week

Madison, Wis. - UW-La Crosse senior tailback Reid Oldenburg of Burlington (H.S.) has been selected the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.

He has also been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week.

Oldenburg set career-highs with 33 rushing attempts and 206 yards in the Eagles' 49-24 win over Azusa Pacific University (Calif.) Sept. 12. He also scored two touchdowns, a one-yard run in the first quarter and four-yard run in the third. Oldenburg averaged 6.2 yards per carry against the Cougars.

He has rushed 57 times for 345 yards (6.1 average) and four touchdowns in the first two games of the season.

UW-L (2-0), ranked 24th on the d3football.com Top-25 Poll, return to action Saturday, Sept. 26 hosting Missouri University of Science & Technology at 4 p.m.

UW-L’s athletic teams sport a contemporary Eagle in the L and caricature created in 1989. Dave Christianson, a 1973 art major graduate, penned the images after the UW-L men’s teams took the Eagles moniker. Women’s teams started sporting the Eagles moniker in November 1990.
