Mane Named to D3hoops.com Team of the Week

Tony Mane
La Crosse, Wis. - University of Wisconsin-La Crosse junior guard Tony Mane of Milwaukee (Thomas More) has been named to the D3hoops.com National Team of the Week it was announced Wednesday. It marked the second time he has earned the national honor, also being selected Dec. 3.

Mane averaged 27.5 points in two games at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Cru Holiday Tournament Dec. 29-30.

He had 20 points, four rebounds and one block in the Eagles' 75-56 win over Hardin-Simmons Dec. 29 and a season-high 35 points in a 86-78 victory over Mary Hardin-Baylor Dec. 30.

UW-L, 11-2 overall and 3-1 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC), returns to action Wednesday, Jan. 6 hosting UW-Superior at 7:05 p.m.

The Eagles are currently ranked 23rd in the D3hoops.com Top-25 Poll.

UW-L’s athletic teams sport a contemporary Eagle in the L and caricature created in 1989. Dave Christianson, a 1973 art major graduate, penned the images after the UW-L men’s teams took the Eagles moniker. Women’s teams started sporting the Eagles moniker in November 1990.
