Billy Mayer competed at the Dan Gable Open Sunday at UW-Oshkosh. No team scores were recorded.
Mayer finished second at 285-pounds with a 2-1 record while Goettl was third at 174-pounds with a 3-1 record. Faust went 1-2 at 184-pounds.
Mayer defeated Cole Tobin (Wisconsin-Unattached) by the score of 9-3 in the quarterfinals and Jarad Torrence (Northern Illinois-Unattached) by the score of 5-2 in the semifinals. He then lost by decision (6-2) to Jordan Hein (Wisconsin-Unattached) in the championship match.
Goettl opened with a win by fall (1:33) over Alec Hakes (UW-Oshkosh) before a 7-5 loss to Ryan Conat (UW-Stevens Point) in the semifinals. He came back in the consolation bracket to record a 8-2 victory over Donavan Gregoire (UW-Sheboygan). Goettl then defeated Craig Brandvold (UW-Stevens Point) by fall (:34) in the third-place match.
At 184-pounds, Faust lost 5-3 to Curtis Hines (UW-Parkside) in his first match. He then defeated Will Christ (UW-Eau Claire) by the score of 12-6 in the consolation bracket before falling 4-2 to Matt Halpert (Unattached).
