UW-L Snaps Losing Streak with Win at UW-Oshkosh

The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's basketball team snapped its two-game losing streak with a 61-55 victory at UW-Oshkosh Wednesday night in the Kolf Sports Center. The Eagles improve to 13-4 overall and 5-3 in the WIAC while the Titans fall to 7-9 overall and 2-6 in the conference. The win also snaps a four-game losing streak to UW-Oshkosh for UW-L.

The contest was tied 10 times in the first half as neither team led by more than three points. UW-L led 28-26 at halftime.

The game was tied 40-40 with 11:59 remaining when the Eagles went on a 7-0 run. UW-L would never trail again. UW-Oshkosh cut the lead to two at 55-53 with 2:36 left and 57-55 with 1:58 remaining, but the Titans had two missed field goals, two turnovers and three fouls in the final :53.

UW-L made its last 20 free throws in the game, including 17-for-17 in the second half. The Eagles were 21-of-23 (91.3%) overall from the line.

Tony Mane led the Eagles with 19 points while Trevor Stratton finished with 18. Mane was six-of-20 from the field, including one-of-five from three-point range, while Stratton was six-of-13 from the field, including missing his two three-point attempts. Mane and Stratton were both six-of-six at the line. Andrew Haass grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds.

UW-L shot 38.8% from the field, including 22.2% (two-of-nine) from three-point range.

D.J. Marsh led UW-Oshkosh with 20 points and 10 rebounds. He finished seven-of-10 from the field and six-of-seven at the free throw line.

The Titans shot 45.0% from the field, including 37.5% (three-of-eight) from three-point range, and 80.0% (16-of-20) at the line.
