UW-L Finishes Fourth at Point Invite

UW-Stevens Point Invitational Results

Stevens Point, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's swimming & diving team finished fourth at the UW-Stevens Point Invitational Saturday afternoon. UW-Stevens Point took the team title with 799 points while UW-Eau Claire was second with 763.5 and Hillsdale College (Mich.) third with 521. UW-L placed fourth with 430.

UW-Whitewater was fifth (293.5) followed by Minnesota State University (285.5), Northern Michigan University (232.5), Gustavus Adolphus College, Minn. (219), Minnesota State University Moorhead (201) and UW-Oshkosh (1).

Due to the weather conditions, the Eagles did not race in the event finals Saturday. UW-L did compete in the preliminaries. 

In Saturday's action, Rachel LaValley was fourth (382.25 points) and Shannon Doyle fifth (375.85) in the one-meter diving competition.

UW-L returns to action Saturday, Jan. 30 at UW-Stevens Point at 1 p.m.

UW-L’s athletic teams sport a contemporary Eagle in the L and caricature created in 1989. Dave Christianson, a 1973 art major graduate, penned the images after the UW-L men’s teams took the Eagles moniker. Women’s teams started sporting the Eagles moniker in November 1990.
