The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse gymnastics team captured its own triangular Friday night in Mitchell Hall in the Eagles' home finale. UW-L finished with a team score of 181.775 while Winona State University (Minn.) was second with 178.150 and Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) third with 165.425.

The Eagles' Kelsey Matula won the uneven parallel bars (9.225) and balance beam (9.350) while Gabi Hooper took the vault (9.600). Matula also finished fifth on the floor exercise (9.175).

UW-L's Courtney Gonzales was second in the all-around (36.025) Friday night while tying for fourth on the uneven parallel bars (8.775). She was also fourth on the floor exercise (9.275) and tied for fifth on the vault (9.175).

Jenna Swails tied for second on the floor exercise (9.375) and placed fourth on the vault (9.300). Katrina Schuch was second on the vault (9.375) and Taylor Cochran second on the uneven parallel bars (9.200). Kendra Klein tied for second on the floor exercise (9.375).

The Eagles' Emily Dinse was fourth on the balance beam (9.125) and Jen Andersen finished fifth on the balance beam (8.950).

UW-L returns to action Sunday, Feb. 28 at the Hamline University (Minn.) Triangular at 1 p.m.

UW-L placed seventh in the 2009-10 NCAA Division III Learfield Sports Directors' Cup standings.  It ties the best finish in school history.  The Eagles are one of six institutions in NCAA Division III history to finish in the top-20 all 15 years of the Sports Directors' Cup.
