NCAA Division III Preview
La Crosse, Wis. - Seven members of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse wrestling team will represent the Eagles at the 2010 National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III Championships Friday and Saturday, March 5-6. Action is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday at the U.S. Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Coe College (Iowa), Cornell College (Iowa) and the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) are serving as hosts of the championships.

Mike Schmitz (174), senior
Andy Moore (197) and senior
Dan Laurent (285) will represent UW-L this weekend.
UW-L finished third at the 2009 NCAA Division III Championships. The Eagles scored 87.0 points as five wrestlers earned All-America accolades. Wartburg College (Iowa) captured last year's NCAA III title with 117.5 points while Augsburg College (Minn.) was second with 105.0.
Mauseth (149-pounds) and Laurent (285) both won NCAA III titles last year for UW-L while
Josh Zabel (184) placed third. Schmitz (174) and Moore (197) both finished fourth. McKinney (125) went 1-2 and Ferguson (165) finished 0-2 at the 2009 national meet.
UW-L has 15 top-10 finishes at the national championships since joining the NCAA III in 1992, including a school-best second-place showing in 2001, 2006 and 2008. The Eagles finished with a school record 106.0 points at the 2006 championships. The Eagles have had nine top-four finishes at the national meet.
