St. Mary's Invitational Results
Winona, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's track & field team continued its 2010 outdoor season at the St. Mary's Invitational Saturday afternoon. No team scores were kept, but the Eagles recorded five individual first-place finishes.
Eric Hill,
Bruce Schmitz,
Dave Pergande,
Kellen McCrary and
Bill Warren each earned titles for UW-L. Hill won the 3,000-meter steeplechase (9:57.00) while Schmitz captured the 1,500-meter run (3:57.79). In the field events, Pergande captured the pole vault (4.70 meters), McCrary the triple jump (13.85) and Warren the shot put (15.78).
Other top finishes on the track for UW-L Saturday included
McCauley Kraker second (3:58.42) and
Eric Smits fifth (4:05.48) in the 1,500-meter run while
Pat Bryan was third (15.43) and
Luke Ackerson fourth (15.57) in the 110-meter hurdles.
Josh Jackson finished second in the 100-meter dash (11.10) and third in the 200 (22.14) while
Tyson Young was second in the 400-meter dash (50.34).
Tom Isaacs placed third in the 800-meter run (1:57.37);
Jared Sitte was fourth in the 100-meter dash (11.34) and
Aric Hoeschen fifth in the 200-meter dash (22.27).
In the field events, UW-L's
Erik Moser and
Andy Grossman tied for second in the pole vault (4.55) while
Brett Davis and
Isaac Vazquez tied for second in the triple jump (13.83).
Aaron Johnson was second in the hammer throw (51.60) and
Adam Poellinger finished second in the shot put (15.03). The Eagles'
Dave Stauder was second (1.95) and
Nick Stone tied for third (1.90) in the high jump.
Jake Shultz placed fourth in the javelin throw (44.01).
UW-L returns to action Saturday, May at the Winona State Warrior Invitational at noon.
