Eau Claire (North) have been selected the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Baseball Position and Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
Johnson hit .417 in seven starts last week, going 10-for-24. He had four doubles, two home runs, seven RBI and three runs scored. Johnson had four multi-hit games during the week, including going three-for-four with two doubles and one RBI in UW-L's 6-1 victory over UW-Platteville April 28.
Johnson went four-for-seven with five RBI and three runs scored in a doubleheader split at UW-Stevens Point May 2. He also finished with one double and two home runs in the twinbill.
Running went 1-0 with a 1.00 earned run average in two appearances lat week. He earned a 4-2 victory at UW-Stevens Point May 1, pitching 8.0 innings, allowing seven hits, two runs (one earned) and four walks with seven strikeouts.
Running leads the WIAC with a 2.44 earned run average.
UW-L, 16-20 overall and 8-12 in the WIAC, returns to action Friday, May 7 hosting UW-Oshkosh at 1 p.m.
