The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's track & field team earned its 20th straight Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Outdoor Championship Saturday afternoon at the Ramer Field Athletic Complex. It is the Eagles' 46th league title overall.

UW-L finished with 184.5 team points while UW-Oshkosh was second with 175.0 and UW-Whitewater third with 120.0. UW-Stevens Point finished fourth (104.0) followed by UW-Eau Claire (97.0); UW-Platteville (84.0); UW-Stout (67.0); UW-River Falls (19.5) and UW-Superior (7.0).

In Saturday's action, Pat Bryan, Brian Shonat and Andy Novak earned individual conference titles. Bryan took the 110-meter hurdles (15.12), Shonat captured the 1,500-meter run (3:56.31) while Novak won the shot put (54-4).

UW-L also took the 4x400-meter relay (3:17.79) while placing fourth in the 4x100-meter relay (42.84).

Andy Grossman finished fourth in the decathlon Saturday (5,682 points).

Other top finishes on the track Saturday included Aric Hoeschen second in the 400-meter dash (49.43) and Connor Lonning second in the 5,000-meter run (14:47.99). Paul Yerhot was fourth in the 400-meter dash (49.43) and fifth in the 200-meter dash (22.45) while Zach Lee placed fifth in the 100-meter dash (10.94). 

In the field events, Kellen McCrary was third (47-4 1/2), Isaac Vazquez fourth (47-3) and Brett Davis fifth (46-7 1/2) in the triple jump. Dave Stauder placed fifth in the high jump (6-4 3/4).

UW-L returns to action Friday, May 14 hosting the UW-L Invitational at 4 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Compelx.

Did You Know...
UW-L's student-athletes recorded a cumulative grade point average of 3.210 in 2010-11, the highest in the WIAC.  The Eagles also had the highest number of student-athletes, 376, posting grade point averages above 3.000.
