UW-L placed second in the WIAC combined standings.
Madison, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse finished second in the combined standings in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) All-Sports Award for the 2009-10 academic year. The Eagles also placed second overall in the women's standings and third in the men's division. UW-L won seven league titles overall and recorded five second-place finishes in 2009-10.

UW-L finished with 82.5 points in the combined standings with UW-Whitewater taking the crown with 84.5. The Eagles were second in the women's division with 43.0 points and third in the men's standings with 39.0. UW-Eau Claire captured the women's trophy with 46.0 points and UW-Whitewater won the men's division with 42.0.

The three All-Sports Awards are given annually by the conference. Points for the awards are given according to the final conference standings in each sport on a 9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 basis, or 8-7-6, etc., depending on how many schools compete in each sport. Either (but not both) indoor or outdoor track and field are included in the calculations and the awards are determined on the basis of the lowest number of sports offered by any WIAC institution in each category.

UW-L won WIAC titles in men's cross country, men's indoor and outdoor track & field, wrestling, softball and women's indoor and outdoor track & field in 2009-10.

The Eagles were second in women's cross country, women's tennis, men's swimming & diving, women's swimming & diving and gymnastics.
