Beloit, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse soccer team earned a 4-0 victory at Beloit College (Wis.) Wednesday afternoon in the season-opener for both squads. Four different players scored a goal for the Eagles.
UW-L's
Emily Wick recorded the save in goal, finishing with five saves. The Eagles outshot the Buccaneers, 19-5, in shots on goal.
Chelsea Hall gave the Eagles a 1-0 lead at 24:45 with an assist from
Lindsay Wilde. UW-L's
Laura Jacobson scored at 38:41 assisted by
Taylor Baker to make it 2-0 at halftime.
The Eagles added a pair of second half goals. Wilde scored on a penalty kick at 68:33 for a 3-0 advantage and Baker finished the scoring at 85:42 with an assist from
Mai Mao Yang.
Beloit's Kourtney Kingslien finished with 15 saves.
UW-L returns to action Saturday, September 4 hosting St. Catherine University (Minn.). The Eagles' home opener is scheduled for 4 p.m.
