UW-La Crosse 183.500, UW-Oshkosh 173.850
La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's gymnastics team opened its 2011 home schedule with a dual victory over UW-Oshkosh Friday night in Mitchell Hall. The Eagles finished with a team score of 183.500 while the Titans recorded a score of 173.850.
UW-L's
Christa Booman captured the all-around title Friday (37.250). She also won the uneven parallel bars (9.525) and tied for first on the vault (9.500) with teammate
Tegan Oare. Booman tied for second on the balance beam (9.100) and finished third on the floor exercise (9.125).
Morgan Shene was second in the all-around (36.825) for the Eagles. She tied for first on the floor exercise (9.425) with teammate
Jenna Swails. Shene was also second on the uneven parallel bars (9.475), fourth on the vault (9.275) and sixth on the balance beam (8.650).
Along with the first-place tie on the floor exercise, Swails was third on the vault (9.400) Friday.
UW-L's
Jen Andersen won the balance beam (9.150) Friday while tying for fifth on the uneven parallel bars (9.000).
Other top finishes for UW-L included
Taylor Cochran tied for second on the balance beam (9.100) while finishing fourth on the uneven parallel bars (9.100).
Kristen Buschke was third on the uneven bars (9.400) while
Kendra Klein was fourth on the balance beam (9.100).
Jessica Herrmann and
Katrina Schuch tied for fifth on the vault (9.200) as the Eagles had the top-six finishers on the event.
UW-L returns to action Friday, February 4 hosting the Gershon/McLellan Invitational starting at 6:30 p.m.
