Orlando, Fla. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's tennis team went 4-0 on its annual spring trip to Orlando this week. The Eagles extended their winning streak to eight straight with the four victories. UW-L is now 12-4 on the season.
The Eagles earned wins over Carthage College, Wis. (5-4); Bethel University, Minn. (8-1); Tiffin University, Ohio (6-3) and College of St. Scholastica, Minn. (5-4) in Florida.
UW-L went 16-8 in singles play over the four duals.
Steven Quiring led the Eagles with a 4-0 record at No. 3 singles while
Nick Piotrowski at No. 1;
Nathan Fekete at No. 2 and
Peter Stadum at No. 4 each finished 3-1.
Vic Mirasola went 2-2 at No. 5 singles while
Travis Murphy was 1-3 at No. 6.
In doubles competition, the Eagles were 9-3 overall. Fekete/Quiring were 4-0 at No. 2 doubles while Piotrowski/Stadum finished 3-1 at No. 1. UW-L's Mirasola/
Tyler Bertelsen went 2-2 at No. 3 doubles.
UW-L returns to action Friday, March 25 at St. Mary's University (Minn.) beginning at 6 p.m.
