La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse gymnastics team earned a dual victory over UW-Eau Claire Friday night in Mitchell Hall in the Eagles' home finale. The Eagles finished with a team score of 184.650 while the Blugolds totaled 178.975. UW-L's
Christa Booman captured the all-around (37.925), uneven parallel bars (9.600) and floor exercise (9.625).
Booman tied for second on the balance beam (9.375) while also placing third on the vault (9.325).
The Eagles'
Morgan Shene was second in the all-around (36.675) and floor exercise (9.600) Friday night. She also tied for second on the uneven parallel bars (9.225) and was seventh on the vault (9.075).
UW-L's
Tegan Oare and
Jenna Swails tied for first on the vault (9.400) Friday. Oare also finished seventh on the balance beam (8.850) while Swails was fourth on the uneven parallel bars (9.025) and tied for fourth on the floor exercise (9.425).
The Eagles took the top-four places and five of the top-six overall on the uneven parallel bars.
Kristen Buschke tied for second (9.225) with Shene while
Jen Andersen was sixth (8.800).
Andersen added a fourth-place finish on the balance beam (9.275).
Six of the top-seven finishers were from UW-L on the floor exercise. Booman and Shene placed first and second respectively while
Jessica Herrmann tied for fourth (9.425) with Swails.
Kendra Klein was sixth (9.400) and
Katrina Schuch tied for seventh (9.200) on the floor exercise.
Klein also finished eighth on the balance beam (8.825).
UW-L returns to action Saturday, March 12 at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference/National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) West Regional Championships at UW-Stout. Action gets started at 4 p.m.
