UW-Stevens Point Invitational Results
Stevens Point, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's swimming & diving team captured the two-day UW-Stevens Point Invitational Saturday night. The Eagles finished with 1,150.50 team points. UW-Eau Claire placed second (783.0) followed by UW-Stevens Point (765.5), Minnesota State University Mankato (594.0) and UW-Oshkosh (272.0).
In Saturday's action,
Andrea Kolitsch,
Danielle Ellingson,
Brooke Reynolds and
Sarah Swanson earned individual titles for the Eagles. Kolitsch won the 100 butterfly (1:00.24) while Ellingson took the 100 breaststroke (1:06.08); Reynolds the 200 backstroke (2:13.70) and Swanson the three-meter diving competition (426.00 points).
Swanson tied for second on the one-meter diving (399.00 points).
Other top individual finishers Saturday included
Abby Diehl second in the 200 freestyle (1:57.92) and 200 backstroke (2:16.16).
Noelle Anderson was second in the 400 I.M. (4:47.54) while
Allie Yemm placed second in the 100 butterfly (1:01.08) and
Leanna Schwartzlow was second in the 100 breaststroke (1:10.25). Schwartzlow was also fourth in the 400 I.M. (4:54.28).
Erica O'Neill was third in the 50 freestyle (25.22).
Andrea Teske was third in the 400 I.M. (4:47.88) and 200 backstroke (2:16.42) while
Stefanie Sippl finished fourth in the 200 backstroke (2:18.12).
Dayna Johnson placed fourth in the 100 butterfly (1:01.46) and
Sarah Kisiolek fourth in the 100 breaststroke (1:11.61).
UW-L took three relay titles Saturday. The 200 medley relay of O'Neill, Ellingson, Kolitsch and Diehl placed first (1:49.33). The Eagles also won the 400 and 800 freestyle relays with Ellingson, Kolitsch,
Lauren Kaiser and Diehl taking the 400 (3:37.24) and Diehl, Teske,
Grace Jarzemsky and Ellingson winning the 800 (7:57.73).
In Friday's action, Ellingson won the 200 I.M. (2:09.47) and 200 breaststroke (2:24.25) while Reynolds took the 100 backstroke (59.89) and finished third in the 200 I.M. (2:16.33).
The Eagles' Diehl was second (1:01.99) and O'Neill third (1:02.20) in the 100 backstroke Friday while Schwartzlow finished second (2:31.89) and Kisiolek third (2:36.15) in the 200 breaststroke.
Kolitsch was second (2:12.42) and Johnson third (2:17.25) in the 200 butterfly while
Shannon Miller was third (55.56) in the 100 freestyle and Teske placed third (5:21.74) in the 500 freestyle.
UW-L won the 400 medley relay (4:01.07) Friday with Diehl, Ellingson, Reynolds and Kolitsch. O'Neill, Miller, Kolitsch and Kaiser finished second in the 200 freestyle relay (1:40.44).
UW-L returns to action Saturday, January 28 at UW-Stevens Point at noon.
