La Crosse, Wis. - The Maroon Platoon, the student support group for University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Athletics, will officially be launched Saturday, January 28.  A kickoff event will be held from 1:30 to 3 p.m. in the Mitchell Hall Fieldhouse.  A special address to the students will be held at 2:30 p.m. as students will receive their Maroon Platoon t-shirts as well as punch cards for special discounts from local businesses.

Domino's Pizza and Pepsi products will be provided to students Saturday and Classic Rock 100.1 will be broadcasting live.  UW-L's cheerleading squad along with Colbert will also be in attendance.

Students are then asked to "fall in" and walk to the Mitchell Hall Gymnasium as the Eagles' women's and men's basketball teams face UW-Oshkosh starting at 3 p.m.
