UW-La Crosse 155, UW-Stevens Point 88
Stevens Point, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's swimming & diving team earned a 155-88 victory over UW-Stevens Point Saturday afternoon. The Eagles improve to 4-1 in duals. UW-L swept the relay competition Saturday as
Brooke Reynolds,
Danielle Ellingson,
Andrea Kolitsch and
Shannon Miller won the 400 medley relay (3:57.80) while Ellingson, Kolitsch,
Lauren Kaiser and
Abby Diehl took the 400 freestyle relay (3:36.36).
Seven individuals earned wins for the Eagles, including Diehl who captured the 200 (1:58.99) and 500 (5:24.42) freestyle. UW-L's
Andrea Teske won the 1,000 freestyle (11:09.69) and placed second in the 500 freestyle (5:24.47) while Kolitsch took the 200 backstroke (2:12.86) and tied for second in the 50 freestyle (25.13) with
Erica O'Neill.
Other winners included
Leanna Schwartzlow in the 200 I.M. (2:16.07),
Mae Bretl in the 200 butterfly (2:19.45), Ellingson in the 100 freestyle (54.11) and
Sarah Swanson in the three-meter diving competition (250.40 points). Schwartzlow was also second in the 200 breaststroke (2:32.18) while Swanson finished third in the one-meter diving (234.35).
UW-L's
Allie Yemm was second in the 200 I.M. (2:17.09) and third in the 200 breaststroke (2:32.68) while
Noelle Anderson placed second in the 1,000 freestyle (11:16.89) and
Grace Jarzemsky was third in the 200 freestyle (2:00.69).
Courtney Clewien was second in the 200 butterfly (2:20.60) and Reynolds was third in the 200 I.M. (2:17.26).
UW-L returns to action Saturday, February 4 hosting UW-Whitewater at noon.
