Winona, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse volleyball team concluded play at the St. Mary's University (Minn.) Sugarloaf Classic Saturday afternoon in Gostomski Fieldhouse. The Eagles (0-4) dropped a pair of matches, falling 3-2 (25-24, 25-23, 15-25, 24-26, 9-15) to Edgewood College (Wis.) and 3-1 (16-25, 25-22, 13-25, 11-25).
Versus Edgewood,
Leah Putzier led UW-L with 21 kills while
Haley Molzner finished with 14 and
Lauren Probst added 12. Probst also had 15 digs and two blocks. The Eagles'
Katie Kaufman led the team with 32 digs.
Brianna Jacobson recorded three blocks.
UW-L hit .206 for the match.
Against St. Thomas, Putzier and
Crystal Ziegler each had nine kills while Molzner finishing with seven. Kaufman led UW-L with 14 digs. Putzier and
Kayla Ashland each had two blocks.
The Eagles hit .114 as
Chantel York finished with 18 assists and
Cassie Raduka 17.
UW-L returns to action Wednesday, September 5 hosting St. Mary's University (Minn.) at 7 p.m. in the Eagles' home opener.
