Orlando, Fla. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's tennis team had its nine-match winning streak snapped with a 5-4 loss to Grinnell College (Iowa) Tuesday afternoon in Orlando. The Eagles are now 13-5 on the season, including 2-1 on their spring trip. Grinnell, ranked 13th in this week's Intercollegiate Tennis Association Central Region, is now 15-5 on the year.
Each team won three singles matches Tuesday. The Eagles'
Kevin McMillen defeated Elliott Czarnecki at No. 1 (6-2, 6-3) while
Kyle McGrane defeated Daniel Nellis at No. 3 (6-2, 6-3) and
Nick Skanavis beat Charlie Wilhelm at No. 5 (6-2, 1-6, 6-1).
The Pioneers' Emilio Gomez defeated the Eagles'
Vic Mirasola at No. 2 singles (6-0, 6-1) while Tracy Johnson beat
Tony Mirasola at No. 4 (6-0, 6-1) and Ben Charney defeated
Travis Murphy at No. 6 (6-3, 2-6, 6-2).

Dante Pitera at No. 2 doubles (8-1) while Charney/C.J. Ray beat
Vic Mirasola/Skanavis at No. 3 (8-4).
UW-L's McMillen/McGrane earned the victory at No. 1 singles (8-4) over Czarnecki/Gomez.
UW-L returns to action Wednesday, March 20 with its final two matches in Orlando. The Eagles face Knox College (Ill.) at 11 a.m. (Central) and Southeastern University (Fla.) at 4 p.m. (Central).
