Fond du Lac, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's tennis squad earned its sixth straight win Friday with a 8-1 victory over Ripon College (Wis.). The Eagles improve to 10-4 overall while the Red Hawks fall to 1-6.
UW-L won five of the six singles matches.
Kyle McGrane defeated Connor Greenwald at No. 2 singles (6-4, 6-3) while
Tony Mirasola beat Ryan Slowinski at No. 3 (6-1, 6-0) and
Travis Murphy defeated Brian Schumacher at No. 4 (6-0, 6-0).
The Eagles'
Joshua Gaspard earned the win at No. 5 singles (6-0, 6-1) over the Red Hawks' Tyler Hopewell while
Alex Brost defeated Anders Goodwin at No. 6 (6-0, 6-1).
Ripon earned its lone victory at No. 1 singles as Eric Seiler defeated
Vic Mirasola (6-7, 6-3, 10-5).
UW-L swept the three doubles matches Friday. McGrane/
Tony Mirasola defeated Seiler/Greenwald at No. 1 (8-3);
Vic Mirasola/Brost beat Slowinski/Schumacher at No. 2 (8-3) and
Thomas Joswiak/Kevin Krause beat Hopewell/Goodwin at No. 3 (8-0).
UW-L returns to action Sunday, March 10 facing Carthage College (Wis.) at 1 p.m. in Madison, Wisconsin.
