Adam Cordova of
Merrill (H.S.) has been selected the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Baseball Position Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday. It marks the second time he has earned the honor this season (March 12).
Cordova hit .462 (six-of-13) in three games last week with seven RBI, two runs scored, two doubles and one walk. He went 3-for-5 with a run scored, one double and tying his season-high with four RBI in UW-L's win at UW-Oshkosh April 8.
Cordova finished 3-for-8 with three RBI, one double and one run in a doubleheader split with The College of St. Scholastica (Minn.) April 13 in La Crosse.
He is hitting .348 overall this season while starting at 17 games. Cordova leads the Eagles with eight doubles and 22 RBI.
UW-L is 10-7 overall and 2-1 in the WIAC this season. The Eagles return to action Wednesday, April 17 hosting UW-Superior at 1 p.m.
