Megan Nelson of
Zumbrota, Minn. (Zumbrota-Mazzepa) have been selected the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Position and Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
Fink hit .600 (nine-of-15) in four games last week with four runs scored, four RBI, three walks and one home run. She had at least one hit in all four contests, including two multi-hit games.
Fink went 5-for-7 in a doubleheader against UW-Stout April 8 and 4-for-8 in a doubleheader at UW-Platteville April 13.
She is hitting .397 on the season while starting all 23 games.
Nelson went 2-0 with a 0.64 earned run average in two appearances last week. She earned the victory in UW-L's 5-2 win over UW-Stout April 8, pitching 7.0 innings, allowing six hits and two runs (one earned).
Nelson then picked up the victory in the Eagles' 9-4 win at UW-Platteville April 13, going 4.0 innings in relief. She allowed three hits with two strikeouts.
She is 6-1 on the season with a 2.73 earned run average.
UW-L is 16-7 overall and 4-3 in the WIAC. The Eagles return to action Tuesday, April 16 at Luther College (Iowa) at 3 p.m.
