La Crosse, Wis. - University of Wisconsin-La Crosse head women's and men's tennis coach Bill Hehli earned his 500th career dual victory in the women's 5-1 win over UW-Oshkosh Saturday, April 27. The win came at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Qualifying Tournament for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Tournament.

Hehli has compiled a 271-92 (.747) overall dual record with the UW-L women's squad after earning a pair of victories Sunday, April 28. The Eagles defeated Edgewood College (Wis.) by the score of 9-0 and Carthage College (Wis.) by the score of 6-3.

Hehli has guided the men's program to a 231-146 (.613) overall dual record, including 18-7 this year.  The 18 victories tied a single-season school record after finishing 18-6 in 2010 and 18-7 in 2011.

He completed his 18th year as UW-L's head coach in 2012-13 and has compiled an overall record of 502-238 (.678) with the women's and men's programs.

The women's squad placed third at the 2012 WIAC Tournament as Hehli was selected the WIAC Coach of the Year for the third time in his career (2000, 2005, 2012). He has led the team to three league championships (2003, 2005, 2006).

UW-L has had a winning record every year under Hehli's tutelage and been ranked in the NCAA Midwest Region the past 15 seasons. The Eagles advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament Second Round in 2007 and finished 18th in the nation in 2001.

The women set a single-season school record for dual wins in 2010-11 and 2011-12, finishing 21-5 each year.
