DeNoyer Named WIAC Athlete of the Week

Madison, Wis. - University of Wisconsin-La Crosse senior forward Elise DeNoyer of Waukesha (Wisconsin Lutheran) has been selected the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday. 

DeNoyer averaged 22.0 points, 9.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.3 steals in three games during the week.  She shot 52.0 percent (26-of-50) from the field. DeNoyer had 19 points and 12 rebounds at 16th-ranked Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) November 21.

She was then named to the UW-La Crosse All-Holiday Inn Express Thanksgiving Classic Team after averaging 23.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 steals November 25-26. DeNoyer had a career-high 27 points with nine rebounds, four assists and two steals in a 62-61 win over Luther College (Iowa) November 25. She finished with 20 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two steals in a 62-52 victory over city-rival Viterbo University (Wis.) November 26.

It marks DeNoyer's second career WIAC Player of the Week accolade after earning the award during the 2016-17 season.

DeNoyer leads the WIAC in rebounding (10.0) this season while ranking second in scoring (18.4), tied for sixth in assists (2.80) and 12th in field goal shooting (47.4%). 

UWL, 3-2 on the season, returns to action Thursday, November 30 at Macalester College (Minn.) at 7 p.m.
