AVCA Top-25 Poll

La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse volleyball team is receiving on this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association Top-25 Poll, released Tuesday afternoon.  The Eagles have 39 votes in the coaches poll.

Wittenberg University (Ohio) is ranked first while Colorado College is second followed by Emory University (Ga.), Trinity University (Texas) and Southwestern University (Texas) to round-out the top-five.  Other Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) schools in the rankings include UW-Whitewater seventh and UW-Stevens Point 23rd. UW-Oshkosh is also receiving votes.

UWL went 4-0 last week, including opening WIAC play with a 3-0 (25-23, 25-22, 25-17) victory at UW-Oshkosh September 20. The Eagles then won all three of their matches at the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW)/WIAC Crossover September 22-23.  UWL won 3-1 (25-20, 22-25, 25-15, 25-21) over Elmhurst College (Ill.); 3-0 (25-14, 25-15, 25-23) over North Central College (Ill.) and 3-0 (25-13, 25-17, 25-21) over Wheaton College (Ill.).

UWL, 10-4 on the season, returns to action Wednesday, September 27 at UW-River Falls at 7 p.m.  The Eagles return to Mitchell Hall Saturday, September 30 hosting UW-Stout at 5 p.m.
