Oshkosh, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse gymnastics team earned a 188.400 to 183.900 dual victory at UW-Oshkosh Saturday afternoon in the Kolf Sports Center. The Eagles scored 46.850 on the vault, 47.100 on the uneven parallel bars, 46.675 on the balance beam and 47.775 on the floor exercise.
UWL swept all four individual event titles Saturday, including two by
Amy Enright. She won the uneven parallel bars (9.600) while tying for first on the floor exercise (9.625) with teammate
Ellie Beckman.
The Eagles'
Samantha Wiekamp captured the vault (9.525) while
Leah Spankowski won the balance beam (9.525). Wiekamp tied for fourth on the balance beam (9.450).
UWL took the top-three places on the vault with
Sam Weyker and
Dani Barmore tying for second (9.500). Weyker also tied for fourth on the balance beam (9.450) while finishing third on the floor exercise (9.600). The Eagles'
Brooke Kachinsky was third (9.525) on the uneven parallel bars while
Breghan Kiloran was fourth (9.425) and
Ellie Beckman tied for fifth (9.350).
Lauren Wilson was fourth on the floor exercise (9.550).
"The girls continued to push and fight through every set today," said UWL Head Coach
Kasey Crawford. "For us, it was a step in the process, and we're ready to keep reaching higher."
UWL returns to action Friday, February 2 hosting the UWL Triangular with UW-Eau Claire and Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) at 6:30 p.m.
