Colorado Springs, Colo. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse gymnastics team opened its 2017-18 season with a dual at the U.S. Air Force Academy Saturday night in the Academy's Cadet West Gymnasium. UWL finished with a team score of 191.350 while the U.S. Air Force Academy finished at 193.425. 

UWL scored 48.325 on the vault, 47.025 on the uneven parallel bars, 48.000 on the balance beam and 48.000 on the floor exercise.

The Eagles' Sam Weyker captured the floor exercise title (9.800) Saturday night. UWL's Breghan Kiloran tied for fourth on the floor exercise (9.675) while Ellie Beckman and Amy Enright tied for sixth (9.625).

Beckman also tied for second on the vault (9.725) with Dani Barmore tied for fourth (9.700) and Samantha Wiekamp and Jessica Ahrens tied for sixth (9.650).

Enright led UWL with a second-place finish on the uneven parallel bars (9.700).

Wiekamp tied for third on the balance beam (9.725) while Weyker and Ahrens tied for fifth (9.700). Wiekamp was third in the all-around (37.050).

UWL returns to action Friday, January 12 hosting Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) in its home opener at 6:30 p.m.
