Conditioning of Abilities: “Conditioning” is a commonly mislabeled concept in the sports performance industry. Conditioning, in its most simplistic form, is a noun and within the realm of sports performance describes different methods of training to develop strength, power, speed, and quickness.
Similar to the results of training in the weight room, the improvements in sports performance seen through the utilization of conditioning methods have a greater transfer to the actual sporting activity.
Conditioning provides a secondary training stimulus outside of resistance training adding in much needed variety and complexity that the weight room cannot provide alone.
Common Abilities:
Linear Speed Development
Multi-Directional Speed Development
Lower Body Plyometrics (jumping)
Upper Body Plyometrics (throwing)
Energy System Development (mental toughness training)
